The Modern School located at Girgaum, Mumbai was founded by the great visionaries, Late Shri Ramanbhai Vakil and  Late Smt. Pushpaben Vakil in the year 1936. The School has grown over the past 72 years from a humble beginning with 300 students to its full capacity of 1000 students today. It is the most reputed institution not just for academics but an overall development of the child.

On 10th June 1936, Dr. Anandshankar Dhruv, the noted oriental scholar and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Banares Hindu University was kind enough to perform the opening ceremony of the School and to bless the birth of our Institution.

The trust and confidence of thousands of parents who entrusted their children to be mentally, emotionally and physically nourished and groomed is an indication of the remarkable commitment of the school in providing quality education that helps the child to develop into an individual who would excel in his chosen field and face global challenges.

The school celebrated Silver Jubilee in the year 1961 during which Dr. S.Radhakrishnan, the Vice-President of India presided over the function and received greetings and blessings from eminent personalities including Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Shri Y. B. Chauhan. The School celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1986 and the Diamond Jubilee in 1996

The school is very proud of its illustrious Alumni including Solicitors, Doctors, Lawyers, Chartered Accountant, Theatre Personalities, Engineers, Architects, and other professionals having shown excellence in every field and reaching the heights of glory.

To meet the demands of society the school started English Medium in the year 1999 in addition to Gujarati Medium. The school has well equipped computer and science laboratories. Moreover, for holistic development of the child, the school offers a variety of co-curricular and extra curricular activities like sports, dramatics, dance, music, art & Craft, etc.

The school has maintained its academic standard with cent percent result at S.S.C. Examination.
